Position Overview:

Plant 4 machines gears, driveshafts, prop shafts, pinons, clutches and a variety of other components used in Mercury Outboard and MerCruiser Engines. We supply to both domestic and Chinese engine assembly operations along with supplying replacement parts for existing engines to our P&A distribution hub. Plant 4 is a fast paced, exciting operation with many available opportunities for the right person to make a significant impression and improvements in the day to day running of operations.  As part of the talented materials team in Plant 4, you will support shipping, receiving, and associated tasks for all product shipped from Plant 4.

Essential Functions:

  • Enter into Plant 4 systems the Shipping, Receiving, Packaging and Returns Transactions
  • Handle driver queries as they are dropping off or collecting product
  • Inputs data to create required transportation / internal documents
  • Organizes and maintains file system of required documents
  • Interacts with accounting and vendors to resolve receipt and payment issues
  • Facilitates cycle counts and inventory adjustments
  • Reviews documents created and makes revisions as required
  • Creates and submits ideas for continuous improvement
  • Orders office supplies
  • Pivotal role of tag coordinator during the annual physical inventory process
  • Occasional vacation coverage for other areas (training will be provided)
  • Ability to troubleshoot occasional printer / printing related problems
  • Performs two health and safety workplace audits per month

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires good judgment and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to create accurate documents quickly using PC skills in Microsoft Office (including MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Thorough understanding of receiving and packaging procedures
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 or more years of experience in a similar or related field

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or free objects.
  • The use of common hand tools are involved.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk, hear, and communicate with other employees.
  • The employee must be able to move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds often.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment
