THE ROLE
Our Colorado Springs, Rockrimmon site is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize automation systems for our advanced manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics, controls, and automation solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of experience and a degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering who is eager to apply their skills and grow in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support design and implementation of automated equipment and control systems.
Assist with programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and technicians to optimize processes.
Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Conduct safety and risk assessments for automation projects.
Analyze data to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Stay current with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
WHAT WE SEEK
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
1–3 years of experience in automation engineering or related field (internships/co-ops count).
Familiarity with PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen Bradley preferred).
Basic understanding of robotics, motion control, and industrial networks.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
OUTSTANDING CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
Experience with robotic programming and integration
Exposure to vision systems, sensors, and servo systems.
Knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar).
Understanding of manufacturing processes and cleanroom practices.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
