Performs all hospital stress tests under the direct supervision of the supervising Cardiologist and coordinates the response to other patient care needs as identified. Uses knowledge of all stress protocols and follows established protocols. Utilizes knowledge of the condition for which the test is ordered, appropriate indications, contraindications, risks, screening, assessment, monitoring and oversight of exercise/pharmacalogical tests while serving as a resource to manage and direct abnormalities or emergent needs to the supervising cardiologist. Uses knowledge of cardiovascular/exercise physiology, hemodynamic response to stress, cardiac dysrhythmias, cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular drugs, effects of age and disease on hemodynamics and ECG responses to stress, end points of exercise/pharmacological stress testing, indications to terminate the stress test, ECG changes that results from stress and administers drugs utilized for reversal of adverse events per protocol. Is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient-centered care. Coordinates care to achieve desired outcomes, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by delegating and working cooperatively and collaboratively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice and professional nursing performance in the clinical setting. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her area. Is accountable to practice in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978, Article 15 (Health Occupations), Part 172 (Nursing).Employment Type: Limited Hours, 8 hours every 2 weeks
Schedule: Every Other Wednesday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. On call every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 8am-12pm
Requirements: Graduated of accredited Registered Nursing program, Current Michigan RN license, Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider (or completed within 60 days of hire, ACLS certification (or completed within 1 year of hire)
