Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Mainframe Engineer (Credit Cards) (multiple positions) in Minneapolis, MN.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software product features in credit card rewards platform using mainframes (COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2) and DevOps tools (Gitlab, IDZ).
  • Optimize the components and changes for Mainframe MIPS using tools such as BMC for DB2 tuning.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing of code changes using REXX tools and Account reservation tools.
  • Review and optimize code components and changes for Mainframe MIPS.
  • Collaborate with partners and vendors on implementation plan and timelines.
  • Deploy and validate code changes end-to-end in the production environment.
  • Research and analyze different scenarios, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure the product is optimized.

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or in a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Developer or in a related occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or in a related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Developer or in a related occupation. Experience must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Agile methodology (scrum); (2) Reviewing and optimizing code changes completed by developers; (3) Reviewing test scripts and providing feedback; (4) Documenting project related artifacts (design, testing results, code review log); (5) COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, JSON, Agile, JIRA, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Jenkins, and Gitlab.

Teams may work from home and the office. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $141,898.00 - $176,100.00 (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
