ROLE SUMMARY
This position will be fully accountable for the facility management, oversight, and delivery of Pfizer Global Workplace Experience (GWE) services in support of Pfizer Oncology and support organizations located at 181 Oyster Point Boulevard, South San Francisco CA.
The role has financial accountability for the total annual budget for the assigned location(s) supporting Pfizer’s portfolio. The incumbent safely provides reliable site strategic oversight and management of all aspects of site services and facility management in support of Pfizer portfolio goals with a focus on fiscal responsibility.
This position will manage the outcomes of work performed by colleagues as well as supplier(s) responsible for facility management and operations as well as providing strategic direction for all phases of facility management including real estate management which may include facilities within the local area.
Additionally, this position will have budgetary responsibility for site operations, expense and capital projects, scheduling, and must manage the facilities to ensure assets are maintained in a manner that supports critical business objectives. A close working relationship with site leadership, research colleagues, GWE leadership, and internal/external resources is required to facilitate the development of requirements, analysis of needs, make recommendations, and execution of plans that align with overall Pfizer and GWE objectives and goals.
The incumbent also implements site efforts to identify, develop, implement, and manage reliability-based maintenance function(s), energy programs aligned to Pfizer ESG goals, Laboratory Instrument Services (LIS), asset management, and supports the engineering and real estate needs for assigned facilities.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, manage and develop assigned colleagues to ensure a successful work experience for GWE team supporting the site.
Manage relationship with Pfizer real estate management team and Landlord(s) based on lease requirements.
Ensure that any outsourced service provider maintains and operates in a manner that maximizes the productivity of personnel in laboratories and support spaces.
Provide technical support and direction as needed for all aspects of site operations and facility management.
Ensure that the supplier's preventive maintenance program is optimized to meet the needs of the business. Review and approve scheduled shutdowns.
Develop enhancements to current operations model such as Laboratory Instrument Services that delivers cost effective, compliant and customer focused services to eliminate burden on science lines and manages total cost of ownership of assets.
Provide guidance for major and minor Facilities Capital Projects including design, construction, and contract administration. Assume responsibility for project execution, including coordination of technical, financial, and contracted resources toward achievement of stated goals.
Manage a variety of assignments at one time and bring them to completion while working with a high degree of independence.
Understand site needs to help develop strategic plan for support of Pfizer portfolio and future facility needs.
Assure projects completed by others deliver fit for purpose and operationally complete projects from design, construction, commissioning, start-up, and occupancy activities.
Partner with Risk Management, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to assure compliance on all aspect of business requirements.
Optimize energy consumption in support of Pfizer ESG goals, manage costs, conservation, and the goal of continued cost saving and increased equipment reliability.
Reviews billing to validate costs or challenge billing discrepancies from service providers.
Manage and develop expense and capital budgets. Responsible for forecasting and variance reporting.
Other related assignments as identified by GWE management as deemed appropriate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facility management, other relevant degree for related disciplines.
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in facility management involving leadership of colleagues and contractors, ensuring compliance and successful operations of a technically complex R&D facility, or other relevant facility management experience.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents must be able to perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints. On a daily basis, the position responsibilities may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with colleagues and others on the phone and in the office; to see clearly from less than one foot to arm’s length with a good field of vision. On a frequent basis, essential duties of the position may require the ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, to kneel and/or crouch to retrieve items.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Day shift with occasional after hours or weekend response required.
Periodic travel may be required in support of GWE business needs
Respond to the site in support of business continuity, emergency response and off-shift schedules periodically
Entry and work in laboratory spaces, vivarium areas, mechanical/electrical rooms, services areas such as maintenance shops, IDF/MDF computer rooms, shipping and receiving, service corridors construction zones, all with adherence to gowning, personal protective equipment practices and standard operating procedures.
