JOB SUMMARY

The Soap Operations Technician (L1) is responsible for assisting the Soap Operations Lead or Senior Technician in the work efforts of the soap operations department of the Sayreville Manufacturing & Packaging Facility in an effort to meet and/or exceed, productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals, and ensure the department operates according to established company policies and procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate, changeover, troubleshoot and maintains mixing, pressing, carton, wrap, and case packing soap equipment in an efficient and safe manner
  • Assure compliance of all company and local, state and federal regulatory agencies’ (i.e., OSHA and FDA) policies and regulations.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and provide feedback on training when necessary.
  • Being customer-focused by producing a consistently high-quality product that our customers will always have available to them when needed.
  • Operate power industrial truck equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a good understanding of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience of a mechanical nature.
  • Must have successfully completed the requirements of an L2 technician. (This is an in-grade promotion.)


Professional Skills

  • Ability to change-over, repair, operate, perform preventive maintenance, and deep clean equipment independently.
  • Must be able to train/mentor technicians on specific machines.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills are necessary to perform at a high degree of proficiency.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
