Summary

This is a Release Manager role which needs to work closely with Application Development, TI , DevOps , Business partners etc to facilitate all release types - Integrated, BAU, Monthly , Re-platform etc.

The person will be responsible to own end to end Release tasks and processes for a respective application or group of applications in Mexico or Brazil.

Responsabilities

o Work closely with the Development teams to understand the nature of the release as well as the value add created due to the respective change at the Business level.

o Manage the release definition and scope negotiation process. Actively work with business representatives and technical teams to review priorities and come up with Release calendar for respective year

o Work closely with Development and QA Teams to oversee the completion of code reviews, unit testing, release test plan, test scripts, automation, performance.

o Work closely with Deployment Management teams on the Component readiness items and weekend release execution plans.

o Coordinate code readiness and promotion through environments. Work with Code Promotion Team, Application Leads, and Infrastructure teams to verify release packages, code merges, code staging, code quality, and environment readiness throughout the complete life cycle of the release.

o Facilitate meetings with Business Leads, PMs, & IT leads, to track release status.

o Build out project milestones, evaluate dependencies, and schedule work to meet the release Go Live date.

o Manage the change control process. Perform risk and impact analysis of changes and consult all related teams. Communicate risks, mitigation plans, and action plans.

o Prepare and manage all release deployment artifacts for the successful implementation of the release in Production. Includes implementation plans, schedules, communications, conference calls, etc.

o On an as-needed basis, run releases during weekends including coordination, engagement of stakeholders/participants, sending out status updates, facilitating triage in case for any issues.

o Ensure MRA 2 guidelines are followed End to End through the Release Life cycle.

o Ensure Enterprise Change Management (ECM) guidelines are followed End to End through the Release Life cycle.

o Manage post productions issues to closure as well as PIR (Post Implementation Reviews).

o Conduct lessons learned and produce scorecards on release activity and ensure those are mitigated/resolved for future releases.

o Ensure all application documentation is managed, ensuring that signoff is received at each phase of the test cycle.

o Due to time criticality, need to proactively handle/identify any potential risk associated with the change and notify application development team.

o Identify process improvement, risk associated with existing process and ideas which can reduce efforts based on time/cost and qualify under OPEX ideas (Optional)

 

Requirements

o 10+ years in a similar role, e.g. Release manager, Release operations, Change Management

o Must be able to handle multiple applications and releases at Domain or Tech Executive level.

o Should be able to own tasks and support management in achieving the stated goals.

o Should mentor new team members.

o Expected to identify Process gaps, Risk, and other Operational Excellence items.

o Proficient in working on ITSM Remedy Change Management tool

o Expert knowledge on MRA 2 guidelines

 

Desirable

o Documents new process improvements and shares with team members

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Prepare release plans with detailed level of information
