Hypertherm seeks a Technical Service Engineer to join the team!

In this key role, you will be a direct link between Hypertherm, our end users, and channel partners for industrial cutting process optimization software (CAM Solutions) that optimizes parts nesting for material utilization and applies best practice cutting techniques. You will help set an industry benchmark by providing timely and accurate technical service support and training. You will also continuously improve process and customer documentation while standardizing machine configurations to help strengthen Hypertherm’s position as a leading industrial cutting solution provider. 

As a Technical Service Engineer your responsibilities will be:

  • Customer Support: Support, troubleshoot, and manage escalation on all current Hypertherm CAM Solutions products.
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of customer technical needs. 
    • This includes advanced applications such as bevel, pipe cutting, drilling, punching, laser, waterjet, HVAC, and combination machines.
  • Professionally and effectively train all new and existing prospects, customers, and channel partners on CAM Solutions products.
  • Provide spot and sanity testing for all current and development products including software bug validation and documentation.

Who you are and the experience you bring:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish languages spoken and written.
  • 1+ years’ work experience, to include Internships,
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • Experience in networking fundamentals, installations, permissions, user groups, and network security navigation. 
  • Windows proficiency and working knowledge of server operating systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills that include reading and understanding CNC codes for various table manufacturers
  • Understanding of SQL and strong Excel skills
  • Strong writing and customer service skills

Preferred experience to differentiate you:

  • Technical Service experience with automated machine control software in a cutting solution products environment
  • Experience in multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux, Mac, Server operating systems.
  • SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D drawing software experience
  • Industry experience with automated machine control software for plasma, water jet, laser, punching, drilling, pipe cutting, or related cutting products including HVAC applications.
