Overview:

Join our Building Solutions team at Johnson Controls as an Inside Sales Supervisor. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of Inside Sales Renewals Representatives, focusing on customer engagement and account management for our Fire equipment and services. Your primary objective will be to drive profitable growth within your designated book of business, emphasizing service revenue and generating new leads that enhance customer value.

Reporting Structure:

You will report directly to the Director of Inside Sales and collaborate with the broader team to maximize revenue from our existing customer base and product offerings. Your team's success will directly impact your performance metrics, as you work to achieve established goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold your team accountable for sales activities and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Empower and coach team members on prioritization, customer engagement, and skill enhancement.
  • Act as an escalation point for support, assisting in overcoming challenges and modeling effective selling behaviors when necessary.
  • Manage multiple priorities with strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach, recognizing that collaboration – both internal and external – is essential for success.

Specific Duties:

  • Promote the sale of services and digital solutions to JCI customers and prospects.
  • Communicate the business strategy and priorities clearly to your team.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop forecasts and drive their activities and results.
  • Conduct team meetings to review KPI progress and exchange best practices.
  • Shadow team members on customer calls to provide constructive feedback.
  • Support team members in their long-term skill and career development.
  • Lead relevant training sessions and encourage participation in ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Serve as a thought leader in Inside Sales best practices and tools.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations by providing insights on team members' progress.
  • Build collaborative relationships with local and national sales teams, reporting to leadership.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture by motivating the team through recognition, gamification, and contests.
  • Ensure accountability and high performance while managing your team.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role (customer service or sales management preferred).
  • Strong understanding of inside sales concepts, practices, and processes.
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience leading an inside sales team, ideally in the Fire, Security, HVAC, Technology, or Software sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a sales pipeline of at least $5M annually.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members to achieve targets.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to contribute to business planning, including sales and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Local presence in Aurora, CO is a plus, but not required.

Training Platforms:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
  • Experience with company SharePoint portals (Oracle, ACE, or similar contract applications).
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or other revenue reporting tools/applications.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000 -$82,00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Sales Commission Plan that will take into account project, quarterly, and annual margin.  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
