Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for F-35 Manager Programs 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Program Management organization. This leadership role is an onsite opportunity located in Redondo Beach, CA.

 

The Program Manager 2 will be responsible for managing a subset of the F-35 Support Equipment portfolio in the acquisition of fleet support equipment in all phases of program life cycle; proposal development, negotiation, startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). This individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals. The primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.

Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities are included but not limited to:

  • Managing cost, schedule, and technical performance of portfolio subset

  • Cultivate customer relationships and intimacy to develop future opportunities within the customer community

  • Leading cross-function Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives

  • Managing suppliers to meet program and customer objectives

  • Measuring and reporting program performance

  • Conduct risk, issue and opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization

  • Drive common process improvements within scope of business to improve supplier and program performance

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years of related experience as defined below OR a Masters degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below

    • OR Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years of related experience as defined below

    • OR Master of Science in STEM and 7 years of related experience as defined below

  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in technical project management, program management, business management, global supply chain, engineering

  • Must have Previous experience leading and managing teams

  • Must have knowledge of Earned Value Management

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical experience in the field of test and evaluation and/ or research development

  • Experience in fleet readiness or overseeing maintainers on carriers or military bases

  • Knowledge of supplier management and/or experience with supporting, leading Supplier Management teams

  • Experience managing suppliers and/or subcontracts

  • Familiarity with agile FAI requirements

  • Strong understanding of technical, cost and schedule impacts on a program

  • Ability to apply knowledge of business and financial concepts to the benefit of program decisions and performance

  • Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time

Salary Range: $151,900.00 - $227,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
