Position Summary

The Senior System Engineer contributes to build up expertise at ZEISS IQS China to develop metrology-grade handheld laser scanners. This role includes deep technical knowledge across electronics, embedded software and systems engineering

Key Responsibilities

• You are responsible for electronic system design and the firmware implementation of the laser scanning device

• You contribute to component selection (communication interfaces, CCD cameras, CPU/Microcontroller etc.)

• You independently plan and carry out experiments on component and system level

Qualifications & Experience

• Completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field

• Solid knowledge of C, C++, and Python for developing and implementing software solutions

• Practical experience in low-level programming, especially controlling optical components, display control, and image processing on PC or embedded system platforms

• Experience working with embedded operating systems (e.g. LINUX)

• Knowledge of Linux shell scripting for process automation and system administration is an advantage

• Analytical and solution-oriented approach to challenges and an interest in developing innovative strategies to enhance system performance

• Experience in developing optical measurement devices
