The GIS Automation Enablement (AE) team is responsible for providing colleagues with the resources and guidance needed to bring automation ideas to life. This is achieved through the development of robust frameworks, use of best-of-breed technical solutions, and the availability of high-quality support from a team of subject matter experts. The Cybersecurity Automation Specialist reports to the Manager of Automation Enablement within the Cybersecurity Response Solutions (CRS) organization. This is an entry-level role focused on cybersecurity automation development & engineering. Colleagues serving in this capacity will develop an understanding of GIS team missions and contributing to the development & support of automation solutions that facilitate the work performed by various groups. The incumbent will be expected to learn and apply standard operating procedures to deliver solutions that are both high-quality and reliable. Collaborating with team leaders and peers, this colleague will help define development goals, scope out projects, and create solutions that enhance team efficiency and effectiveness. This role offers the chance to take on project responsibilities, engage with a variety of interesting use cases, and utilize leading technical solutions to achieve shared objectives. It also provides the opportunity for cross-functional collaboration with colleagues around the globe.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with various teams to gain a foundational understanding of their unique work systems, practices, challenges, goals, and automation requirements.
Develop high-quality and reliable automation solutions that align with team needs.
Build and maintain automation capabilities using available technologies, such as SOAR solutions, service integrations, Python scripts, PowerShell scripts, and Docker.
Work alongside stakeholders to support all phases of assigned projects, including planning, design, development, testing, and implementation.
Take initiative in the ongoing development, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance of assigned solutions.
Manage team-specific automation solutions of basic to moderate complexity.
Assist in the regular health monitoring of solutions supported by the team.
Contribute to the development of analytics that support team operations using SIEM solution(s).
Conduct peer code reviews, providing timely and constructive feedback when necessary.
Assist with the management of incoming work requests from GIS stakeholders.
Perform all work in a collaborative, accurate, and complete manner that considers the common needs of other GIS teams.
Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and contribute to the team's objectives.
Engage with the GIS Automation Enablement Community of Practice in a communicative and supportive manner.
Perform all work in alignment with the Agile operating model established by the organization and adopted by the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or other related discipline; OR Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience; OR six years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent
Fundamental proficiency in coding with languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or other prevalent languages
Knowledge of common DevOps practices related to the use of code management services
Capable of contributing to peer code reviews and providing colleagues with constructive feedback
Foundational understanding of networking and general computing principles
Basic experience with operating Linux systems through the command line interface
Adaptable mindset capable of quickly learning and applying new knowledge to benefit the team
Ability to apply critical thinking skills and logic to troubleshoot & resolve technical issues
Ability to apply a collaborative, creative, and detail-oriented approach to completing work assignments
Ability to communicate in a concise & accurate manner in both written and verbal form
Capable of working independently with reasonable guidance and as a contributing member of a team
Ability to prioritize and execute assigned work tasks with moderate direction or oversight
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
Willingness and ability to proactively perform ongoing professional development through self-paced study of written & video-based training material, documentation review, and formal training courses
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with application development involving the use of REST APIs from workflow applications, SIEMs, and other enterprise solutions
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity operations related to teams like Cyber Threat Intelligence, Threat Detection Engineering, Cyber Threat Hunting, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Security Engineering, and / or other related disciplines
Experience supporting & developing automation scripts, playbooks, integrations, and common platform components using SOAR solution(s)
Experience working with application servers, relational databases, and / or message queues
Experience working with large datasets and constructing queries (SPL, SQL, etc.) to produce easily consumed dashboards and reports
Basic knowledge of managing automations within a Docker environment
Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach
