We are seeking a Manager of Strategic Ventures to assist the Director of Corporate Development in the evaluation, execution and monitoring of prospective and existing investment opportunities of Cottonmouth Ventures. This role is akin to a VP at an investment bank and requires deep financial acumen, strategic vision, and experience in transaction execution across the energy and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, with a strong background in energy and infrastructure transactions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the oversight of Diamondback’s investments in pipelines, power infrastructure, and other energy-related assets through Cottonmouth Ventures platform
Assist in the development and implementation of strategic investment initiatives in alignment with Diamondback’s broader corporate goals
Evaluate and conduct strategic and financial due diligence related to potential new investment opportunities, including potential mergers and acquisitions
Monitor financial performance and operational efficiency of existing investments
Collaborate with internal finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure investments are structured and managed effectively
Prepare investment analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment for current and prospective assets
Develop relationships and maintain communication with investment partners, joint venture stakeholders, and external advisors (e.g., investment banks, legal teams, consultants)
Assist in the negotiation of transaction terms, deal structures, and financing arrangements for acquisitions and investment expansions
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of experience preferred in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or energy infrastructure investment and 3 years of direct management experience
Comprehensive understanding of primary value drivers across infrastructure assets, capital markets, and energy sector transactions
Track record in diligence and execution of investments in pipelines, power, or midstream infrastructure
Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills
Deal execution experience, particularly in large-scale infrastructure or energy investments
Ability to manage relationships with joint venture partners, institutional investors, and executive leadership
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations
