Caterpillar’s Earth Moving Division is hiring for NPI Team Leader in Brooklyn Park, MN!

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

  • Manage large NPI programs to deliver products to production on time, within budget, and aligned with the product strategy.
  • Leads cross functional teams to deliver key program objectives and ultimately the new product to production. 
  • Drives product strategy for Asphalt Pavers and leads effort to prioritize NPI programs based on enterprise impact and objectives.
  • Assembles the business case for project requests.
  • Identifies training needs for NPI team members and initiates NPI-related development opportunities. Provides mentoring for the team.
  • Build relationships with other departments, industry associations and outside organizations. Assists in marketing the NPI process to customers.
  • Identifies cost opportunities. Identifies trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement.
     

What You Have (Core Skills)

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Program Management: Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • The position requires thorough knowledge of company products, product applications, and the product development process. Paving and/or Earthmoving experience is desired.
  • The position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. In addition, six to nine years of job-related experience are typically required.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and work with diverse groups to reach consensus is required.
  • Project planning and NPI experience as either a team member or team leader.
  • Communication skills are critical as incumbent initiates communication with others outside immediate work group to work on new ideas or to counsel others, etc. The ability to listen to others is important to the job.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential as well as project management efficiency.

Additional Details

  • Work location: MN-Brooklyn Park-Paving Products Plant
  • Domestic relocation assistance IS available for this role

  • Travel: 10-20% domestic and international.
  • This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F).

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
