Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000

Job Summary: The Area Director of Revenue Management is responsible for executing revenue strategies across an assigned portfolio of hotels, focusing on inventory, pricing, and control optimization to maximize revenue and profitability. This role collaborates closely with sales and commercial strategy teams, utilizing data insights and RMS expertise to drive business success and ensure competitive positioning.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Evaluate opportunities from property and regional sales teams to determine optimal pricing and alternative options for each lead.
  • Facilitate the evaluation process for swift and accurate responses to sales leads.
  • Maximize revenue by calculating the displacement of other business and identifying profitable pricing.
  • Act as a representative for the hotel's revenue management in sales discussions and client advocacy.
  • Provide business evaluation expertise to property and regional sales leaders.
  • Develop and manage short- and long-term revenue strategies for group and transient segments.
  • Perform displacement analysis to inform pricing for group, transient, and catering segments.
  • Oversee inventory allocation controls and optimize price positioning to meet revenue goals.
  • Refine brand RMS configurations by validating system rate recommendations, documenting daily entries, and analyzing system adjustments.
  • Collaborate with brand managers to execute revenue strategies and evaluate essential brand reports.
  • Assist with pricing and yield strategies across all market segments.
  • Monitor RMS to optimize revenue potential during high-demand periods and special events.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue management, with a proven track record of maximizing revenue and managing RMS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct complex data analysis, including displacement and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency with revenue management systems (RMS), property management systems (PMS), and distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales and operations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and make strategic revenue adjustments.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and financial metrics to inform revenue strategies.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily works in an office environment, with frequent use of computers for data analysis and RMS system management.
  • May require occasional travel to properties within the assigned portfolio for strategy alignment and operational meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, often under tight timelines.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accommodate business needs and market conditions.
