Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for handling the largest and/or most complex accounts and managing the efficiency and accuracy of the application of all charges for billing purposes. This position identifies and resolves issues regarding billing disputes or issues with the customer, (e.g. variances). This individual will be a subject matter expert with the ability to make time-sensitive decisions, manage multiple competing priorities, and teach or train others.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statement billing and invoices including collection of missing or incomplete documentation to meet customer billing requirements and audit billed charges for validity
  • Collaborate with management to coordinate processes on invoicing processes/payments
  • Compile and construct data for customer notification reports and billing updates
  • Knowledgeable of international business specific to Global Forwarding, Port Dray, Transload, and Maritime, and responsible for the instructions, guidelines, practices, and procedures relative to billing.
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
  • Set up and maintains projects (billable and non-billable) modifications in multiple systems, rate changes, and recurring billing additions
  • Work with internal teams to improve processes, discuss action plans, and/or contractual changes, and achieve organizational/department/team goals and objectives
  • Train and mentor new employees
  • Network and build relationships with both JB Hunt employees and external customers by responding to inquiries and complaints regarding accessorial billing processes, notifications, billing issues, etc. and identify root cause and solutions to issues
  • Execute special projects to improve billing processes
  • Act as team lead in absence of formal management

Qualifications:

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years experience in a administrative, business, finance, accounting/payroll, transportation/logistics role &/OR demonstrated ability of the following skills through education, certifications, or other experiences
  • Ability to act professionally.
  • Ability to be both flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal & written settings.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn a new software system.
  • Ability to prioritize & organize tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
