As an AI scientist at Clario, part of Thermo Fischer Scientific, you will push the boundaries of AI in clinical trials and help build the first end-to-end AI-enabled clinical trial platform. This research role involves foundation models and large initiatives including universal lesion detection and segmentation, as well as creating new end-to-end pipelines encompassing the whole clinical trial cycle. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative imaging-AI solutions into production.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation

  • Attractive benefits (security, flexibility, support and well-being)

  • Remote or hybrid working

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Research and develop CNNs, transformers, multimodal foundation models, and domain-specific architectures (e.g., vision models for lesion tracking, image registration models, lesion segmentation neural networks)

  • Research, design, and build machine learning models tailored to complex medical imaging datasets

  • Conduct experiments and champion the exploration of new technologies and methodologies in AI and machine learning

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of product managers, radiologists, clinical scientists, AI and software engineers

  • Contribute to the broader technical vision and mentor teammates in ML best practices

  • Maintains Quality of Service and Departmental Standards by reading, understanding, and adhering to organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Participate in the design and development of our products, in collaboration with clinical partners, Product, and Customer Success teams

  • Contribute to the design and success of scientific publications

What We Look For

  • PhD, or Master’s degree with equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Computer Vision or a related field

  • Proficiency in Python and relevant machine learning frameworks (PyTorch)

  • Ability to design, run, and analyze experiments independently and communicate scientific results

  • Willingness to dive deep into complex medical topics and communicate with multidisciplinary teams

  • Understanding of machine learning and statistics principles, computer vision challenges, and medical imaging

  • Demonstrated record of working on research projects with peer-reviewed scientific communications, publications and/or talks

  • Strong theoretical and practical background in deep learning development demonstrated with proven track record of delivering AI solutions from prototyping to usage. Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps tools is a plus

  • Experience of developing medical AI solutions and interacting with clinicians or participating in open-source medical projects
