Monitor Technicians are responsible for continuous observation of patients monitors, leads and/or activity and behaviors, and for reporting pertinent changes and abnormalities to the appropriate clinical staff. This position is also responsible for maintaining logs of activity and changes or behaviors in accordance with facility standards. You will be a valued member of our team and be a part of a strong team collaboration.

We are currently looking for a full time Monitor Tech to work Night Shifts.  This position works 12 hour shifts and does include rotating weekends and holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury. This position is also responsible for reporting pertinent changes and abnormalities to the appropriate clinical staff. This position is also responsible for maintaining logs of activity and changes or behaviors in accordance with facility standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Provides close and continuous, consistent, direct visual camera surveillance for assigned patients. Alerts appropriate clinical staff of any changes and abnormalities.

2. Sets up video monitor, including entering patient information.   Documents changes in clinical and/or behavioral activity.

3. Provides information and summaries to physicians and staff.

4. May provide general support to the department, including greeting and assisting patients, visitors, physicians, and ancillary personnel.

5. Works under general supervision. Interacts with all levels of staff within the facility, physicians, patients, families and external contacts and vendors.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Current BLS certification may be required in certain departments.

Must possess a working knowledge of medical terminology. Requires effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
