Reporting directly to the Financial Accounting Team Leader, the Financial Accountant will own the month-end process by driving the timely completion of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts and act as a critical partner in transparency by preparing the comprehensive year-end audit package. You will ensure everything is accounted for by managing the fixed asset register and WIP. Your core task is to achieve ledger harmony by expertly reconciling subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, swiftly correcting any discrepancies. You will also provide foundational support by accurately coding all invoices to guide budget allocation and actively assist with various projects and statutory returns.

We have an exciting permanent full time opportunity available now, based in our Group Head Office in Bowen Hills on a hybrid working arrangement. We also have a fixed term contract advertised elsewhere dependant on experience.

Things that work for us:

  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and proven experience as an Accountant within a fast paced business environment
  • Sound working knowledge of accounting procedures and concepts to trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet level and demonstrated experience in the year-end audit process
  • Technical and working knowledge of accounting for revenue, wages, supplies and fixed assets as well as technical knowledge of GST and FBT reporting
  • Accounting, Finance or Business degree and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • CPA/CA membership or qualified by equivalent experience
  • Effective stakeholder management with the ability to communicate professionally with peers and superiors, both verbally and in writing
  • Health and/or Aged Care accounting experience is desirable, including basic knowledge of current reporting requirements
  • Prior work experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (highly desirable)
