Position Summary:
The successful Fiber Technician will provide installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Internet and telephone services for residential and commercial clients in a fiber based GPON environment.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Install services including voice and data, complete work orders utilizing all safety and installation manuals and test equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle compliance in terms of inventory, safety, and maintenance.
  • Perform work following all required safety requirements including, but not limited to, climbing digging, and drilling.
  • Provide all associated paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Continually improve product knowledge through offered trainings and opportunities.  Provide feedback to management on trends and issues that may be widespread to determine appropriate remedies.  
  • Participate as required in on-call, evening, weekend, and/or shift work hours upon eligibility
  • Maintain workforce utilization level as required
  • Reports to Operations manager
     
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum high school diploma.  Preferred advanced education in information technology, electronics, or similar field
  • Excellent customer oriented approach to work activities
  • Must be able to pass BPI certification testing within first 12 months
  • Physical and Work Environment Requirements 
  • This position requires regularly bending, climbing, sitting, and lifting of more than 50 pounds.
