SUMMARY: This job encompasses all aspects of material movement throughout the production facility including but not limited to any of the following: coordination of the movement of materials, actual material movement, and loading parts and final product for shipping.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Tracks material, parts, etc. through designated area and coordinates movement of material, parts, and assemblies.
  • Updates computer as required.
  • Accountability for inventory accuracy.
  • May order material from suppliers using open P.O.
  • Manually of using forklift, crane, etc. properly moves materials throughout the facility.
  • Properly loads and unloads trucks.
  • Prints lists of items to be shipped and checks order ensuring its accuracy.
  • Picks, boxes, and loads kits and other items for shipment - must protect and secure items.
  • Performs basic inventory transactions in the MRP computer system.
  • Loads final products on trucks/ trailers for shipment.
  • Relocates items to storage area and properly records these items when shipment is at a later date.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or hire date prior to 5/10/96.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to acquire the following licenses: forklift, mobile crane, and overhead crane.  Must have a valid Utah Driver License and be able to qualify to drive company motor vehicles.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic knowledge of pick lists, Syteline and other programs as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to climb or balance.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Good hand and eye coordination is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
