Are you passionate about precision and quality in electronics manufacturing? We are seeking a talented Hand Solder Technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the creation of high-quality electronic assemblies.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Perform soldering of through-hole connectors, Single In-line and Dual In-line Packages with precision.
  • Execute rework and repair tasks using Hot Air Reflow and other de-soldering tools effectively.
  • Solder 0402 chip components or smaller with high accuracy.
  • Handle fine-pitched components such as QFPs and TSOPs with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solder connectors with tightly packed leads ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Conduct rework and repair using auxiliary heating tools including hot plates, ovens, and hot mats.
  • Perform soldering of wire adds with precision and care.

The Must Haves:

  • Proven electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in using microscopes for detailed inspection and assembly.
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly documentation accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT/TH or Mix Tech assemblies in line with IPC A-610 standards.
  • Proficient communication skills in written and oral English.

Nice to Haves:

  • Certification in IPC A-610 standards or similar industry qualifications.
  • Familiarity with advanced soldering techniques and tools.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes in electronics manufacturing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with automated soldering equipment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.


Pay Range:
The salary range for this role is $74, 200 - $118, 400

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
