A Little About Us: 

Yahoo's data warehouse team manages a petabyte warehouse to glean insights on Yahoo Media products and to improve the experience for its massive user base. The team interacts and works across multiple organizations at yahoo to grow user engagement and user experience across yahoo's product portfolio. Your work will directly influence product changes and you will work some of the brightest engineers you have known to improve the user experience on yahoo properties and contribute to company growth. Along the way, you will solve problems for an Internet Pioneer, that is hard to match in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Analyzing and evaluating complex business problems, developing system requirements, implementing those requirements in a cost effective manner and integrating those with existing systems.

• Plans, conducts, and manages the analysis of business problems to be solved through the development of automated business systems.
• Provides technical leadership to identify, evaluate and propose systems and procedures that meet the business requirements.
• Translates complex business requirements into technical requirements.
• Works proactively to anticipate business and customer needs and requirements.
• Communicates complex technical information to a wide variety of individuals and groups within and outside the division.
• Possesses sufficient knowledge to challenge current practices and to develop new techniques and practices.
• Able to lead a team; gains cooperation and commitment on multi-disciplined projects which May cross multiple departments.
• Knows the architecture of components of a product or system, and understands fundamental constructs of how different components align to create a product or system.
• Knows scripting-type languages and Operating Systems.
• Possesses in-depth understanding of products and/ or systems. Works with multiple platforms Or systems.
• Data Subject-matter expert, with technical breadth and depth.
• Provide input into developing or improving systems to meet the business needs.
• Participate in technical reviews to ensure solutions meet the business requirements.
• Participate and present industry findings and trends to internal audience.
• Specialized Knowledge: Ability to represent the organization as the principle customer contact

Skills:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience with Looker or related business intelligence tools
• Comfortable writing complex sql queries
• Excellent communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate ability to manage competing projects across multiple teams.
• Ability to lead and influence others in a dynamic and challenging working environment.
• Ability to display passion for continuous improvements focused on Yahoo values

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
