POSITION PURPOSE:

A Respiratory Care Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of Respiratory Care and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs patient therapy assessments.

• Performs respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by the physician.

• Performs integral role as a member of the Code Blue Team.

• Provides education to patients and family.

• Cleans and maintains respiratory equipment and supplies as necessary.

• Performs artificial airway maintenance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

• Certification as either a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required within 90 days of graduation of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

• Basic computer literacy - use of computer and computer software applications required.

• Current CPR certification.

Compensation Range

$16.00 - $24.00
