The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth MN location for our Electrophysiology Medical Device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
This is a Planning Manager role responsible for a team of production & supply planners. Production planners manage the day-to-day scheduling at ZFIN or lowest part level for Finished Goods and Subassemblies for all EP US manufacturing. Supply planners maintain Global responsibility for the coordination and execution of product family build plans across full manufacturing network over 24mo horizon. In addition, there may be a portion of master scheduling for TPM and specific EP sites needing support.
The team will achieve their objectives by balancing several dynamic and conflicting elements including cycle time management, inventory management, capacity planning, distressed inventory management, technical challenges, and productivity while maintaining the highest level of compliance and service.

What You'll Work On
Manages the development of production plans to support end customer sales, non-revenue demand, and planned inventory changes
Manages finished goods inventory levels and safety stocks in support of end customer sales at the desired service levels, while maintaining the lowest inventory investment possible
Resolves product delivery conflicts with plans and prioritizes production schedules
Sets strategic and tactical direction for management of planning factors that are in line with divisional inventory and cost goals, including distressed inventory management. Supports key financial strategies for establishing annual product standard costs, annual production volumes, quarterly latest best estimates (LBEs). Ensures schedule commitments and financial goals are met
Drives the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the EP business unit – frequently presenting to top leadership in Abbott
Manages resources, provides direction to staff, approves broad staffing decisions and develops the organization to ensure effectiveness
Works with peers in Purchasing, Demand, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Quality to support production plans, take advantage of opportunities, and solve problems
Takes a leadership role in the sourcing and implementation of new systems for planning as needed (SAP or other)
Collaborates with R&D/Marketing/Demand to ensure adequate inventory levels are reached prior to Market entry for new products. Manages full product lifecycle – through retirement and strategic rationalization strategies
Develops and tracks goals and objectives to assure annual improvements in operational performance of the team. Establishes effective measurement systems for supply chain performance to assure meeting customer and business needs
Attracts and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff. Provides ongoing performance feedback, including coaching and mentoring
Creates a high-performance, sustainable organization that meets strategic and operational goals by instituting a culture of learning and motivating others to succeed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or related field
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in people management with demonstrated abilities as a leader
Minimum of 5 years’ specifically leading supply, demand planning, or scheduling / production planning teams
Excellent leadership, problem solving, and analytic skills
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Ability to effectively present to executive leadership
Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally

The base pay for this position is
$127,300.00 – $254,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
