We are currently looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our team in Franklin, TN!
Job Summary
Provide support to the Nissan North America (NNA) Legal Department, its Treasury counsel and the Treasury function on complex financial transactions.
A Day in the Life:
Provide sophisticated, timely, and accurate administrative support to enable the Legal Department to provide high quality legal advice to the Company on Treasury related matters.
Perform due diligence in connection with Treasury transactions and ongoing compliance.
Prepare and deliver certificates and opinions for compliance with Treasury transactions delivered on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis for Treasury transactions.
Review legal documents to identify compliance obligations, prepare required compliance certificates and opinions, and obtain appropriate signatures.
Interface with Financial Reporting to distribute NMAC financials to recipients within deal specific timeframe.
Maintain and update SharePoint document database accessible to Treasury, outside counsel and independent auditors.
In consultation with attorneys and Directors, coordinate and assemble all materials for all NMAC and special purpose entity Board of Directors meetings.
Coordinate NMAC board and committee meetings and corporate governance matters, including recordkeeping.
Occasionally make travel arrangements and reconcile expenses.
As necessary, perform other duties in consultation with the Treasury attorney or other members of the Nissan Legal Department as may be assigned.
Who We’re Looking for:
Knowledge and understanding of the administrative process and legal compliance risks. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to organize and handle high volumes of paperwork with detailed and diverse content.
Adaptable to change.
Ability to multi-task.
Deadline oriented with good time management skills.
Good computer skills and knowledge of multiple PC applications.
Experience with cross-functional and cross-affiliate activities and projects.
Three or more years of related experience at a professional level.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Professional Certification as a paralegal from an ABA program.
Specific Course/Certifications:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Willingness to utilize computer and software programs as needed to conduct day to day activities.
