About the Role

The Principal Implementation Consultant (PIC) position is an integral part to our Professional Services Organization, which delivers Contract Intelligence and Workflow solutions to our customers. This includes six key areas of focus:

  • Demonstrates product expertise in the CLM or Business App platform

  • Provides top-quality service engagements for large or strategic customers or other accounts, serving as the lead process analyst, technical architect, and/or advisor to customers

  • Follows PS implementation standards and methodology

  • Validates, gathers, and assesses complex solutions to make thoughtful and required appropriate recommendations to the customer

  • Gains proficiency in the configuration and integration of solutions

  • Initiates, suggests, and helps create repeatable business processes and artifacts for scaling the organization.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

The PIC is responsible for delivering CLM or Business App solutions to customers. This position is responsible for developing high expertise across the CLM or Business App platform.

Solution Deployment (85%)

  • Collaborates closely with the Project Manager to successfully deliver projects

  • Ensures alignment between customer’s business and technical architecture with their CLM or Business App solution

  • Lead end-to-end solution design discussions accounting for integration points between CLM and other business application platforms (e.g. SAP Ariba, Salesforce).

  • Validate/gather functional and technical requirements and produce solution design

  • Create core project documentation and achieve customer sign-off on requirements and user stories, solution design and architecture, and other project artifacts.

  • Delivers technical implementation activities from post-sale to support transition for PS engagements as required for key customers and to load balance with the rest of the team

  • Follows implementation methodology and standards

  • Execute project plan tasks associated with engagements

  • Test plan validation

  • Maintains an average of 70% utilization for billable projects

  • Identifies engagement-related problem areas and solves the issues in a proactive manner

  • Periodically may assist the Customer Support team in troubleshooting and resolving post-production solution issues

  • Provide technical training and reusable project artifacts for internal or external resources to promote implementation scalability as needed

  • Uphold CLM or Business App’s core values and be maniacally focused on delivering successful projects that set customers up for high-value contracting journeys

  • Participate in pre-sales opportunities to scope and pitch SOWs

Administration (5%)

  • Maintains accurate and timely submission of timesheets, expense reports, and project-related forms

  • Maintains regular internal communications with the project team, team lead, and manager

  • Provides feedback and updates to internal processes through internal documentation

  • Follows standard department processes

Training (10%)

  • Continues to stay abreast of technology through internal training, lab development, and industry-standard training/certifications

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of external consulting experience in business process analysis and requirements generation, solution design and configuration, and SaaS project delivery that include custom API-based integrations

  • 4+ years of experience in CLM, Contract Intelligence (AI). Expertise with Salesforce, SAP Ariba, Coupa, and other CLM solutions is a large plus. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of architecture, API, and data and process flows.

  • 3+ years of experience scoping and selling SOWs

Other Qualifications

  • A recognized degree in computer science, legal (JD), business administration

  • Practitioner in legal operations, contract management and administration, commercial contract management and administration

  • Strong understanding of how business requirements are gathered, analyzed, documented, and translated into technical specifications.

  • Strong understanding of taking technical specifications and configuring/implementing them into a solution.

  • Results-oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, motivated, and driven to succeed. Business Skills

  • Capable of working on or leading a team through a fast-paced and complex project

  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, including escalation management and information presentation

  • Strong follow-through, ownership & responsibility on tasks assigned

  • Effective time management and maintaining flexibility


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $133,300 USD - $230,400 USD
