Animal Care Clinic, in El Cajon, California, is currently looking to hire experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team! Our ideal candidates will have open availability, excellent time management skills, and be able to work well in a team. We have added additional doctors to our already busy, full-service veterinary hospital and are expanding our service hours into the evening and Saturday.     

Full-time and Part-time Opportunities available!!

• Salary: $20 - 25 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, education, and licensure.
• Schedule: Four or Five 8-hour shifts, Monday- Friday, rotating Saturdays.  Closed on Sunday and major holidays.

Who you are:

• 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
• Perform basic exam procedures, vitals
• Skilled in venipuncture/blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
• Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assisting, post-operative care and recovery
• Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); in-house laboratory equipment
• Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
• Excellent client communication/education
