Transplant Coordinator I – Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy

The opportunity to serve as a Blood and Marrow Transplant Coordinator at Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Center presents a unique chance to be part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. In this role, you will add value to patient care and significantly influence individuals throughout their transplant journey.  
 

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 5:00pm. 
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Facilitate plan of care and symptom management per physician recommendations. 

  • Provide education to patients and family members regarding all phases of the transplant process. 

  • Assess recipient compliance with medications and treatment plan and collaborates with transplant team to initiate changes in drug/treatment plan as indicated. 

  • Review and collate medical information received from referring physician for patients seeking or undergoing transplant evaluation 

  • Coordinate all activities related to organ acquisition including evaluation of the donor workup information 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

  • Three years of acute care hospital experience including disease related experience.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours.

  • Must be willing to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
