About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the exciting, first-in-class launches in Takeda’s current global pipeline; our breakthrough therapy for Narcolepsy Type 1. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a new disease area, building early market readiness and leading a market defining launch in Australia.

We’re seeking a strategic, insights driven Commercial Lead who understands that shaping a new market requires not only commercial excellence but the ability to orchestrate and elevate the full strength of cross-functional expertise.

What you will lead:

Cross functional leadership that fuels early market shaping:

• This is where your leadership matters most: Create an environment where cross-functional intelligence, strengths and capabilities lead to faster, sharper decisions and where collaboration becomes a strategic advantage.
• Ensure each launch decision is insight led, integrated and future focused.

Launch excellence: 

• Shape the early market strategy for Narcolepsy Type 1.
• Build disease awareness and lay the foundations for category creation.
• Lead end-to-end launch readiness and execution, setting the strategy, roadmap, and metrics for success.

Strategic planning & brand leadership:

• Own the brand strategy and operating plan, delivering clear, bold and differentiated positioning.
• Use AI-enabled analytics, scenario planning, and market insights to anticipate shifts and guide high impact decisions.

Customer and stakeholder engagement: 

• Build trusted relationships with specialists, HCPs, patient groups and advocacy partners.
• Establish Takeda as a credible, collaborative leader advancing sleep health in Australia.

What you bring:

We’re looking for a commercially savvy, insights driven leader who brings both strategic clarity and executional excellence.

• A relevant Bachelors degree (Health Science, Business, or similar). MSc or MBA is an advantage.
• 8+ years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, including launch leadership and product management.
• Demonstrated success in early market‑market shaping of new therapy areas.
• Experience in sleep disorders or relevant specialist therapeutic areas preferred.
• Strength in data driven decision making, digital tools and AI enabled insights.
• A collaborative, resilient, and strategic mindset.
• A passion for improving patient outcomes and shaping long-term impact.
