Job Summary:

This Apprenticeship position supports the organization's security operations center (SOC). This position provides education in the day-to-day duties of a SOC analyst and the activities they perform in safeguarding the enterprise. The focus of this role is to actively monitor and respond to threats in the CNA cyber landscape. At the completion of the program the apprentice will be fluent in SOC applications and tooling as well as the investigative techniques utilized by cyber security professionals.

Apprentice can also expect to:
• Work with the Security Operations Center team to deliver program communications and training activities.
• Engage in daily security briefings and team meetings.
• Develop data reports summarizing quarterly results against goals.
• Collaborate with senior SOC team members to contribute to key initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Have at least one academic year left at City Colleges of Chicago

  • Work will be a hybrid style with the majority of time in the office located at 151 N Franklin (Tuesdays will likely be an in-person day)

  • Earn passing grades (of a C or higher) in coursework

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to understand information security foundational information and principles.

  • Communication, investigation, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to manage various tasks and projects to completion. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Security tooling familiarity preferred (SIEM platforms, endpoint security tools, network security tools, etc.)

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers and staff.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $35,000 to $65,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
