As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. Continuous refinement and enhancement of software elements are key activities, contributing to the delivery of robust and efficient solutions that align with organizational goals.We are seeking a skilled professional to manage and support Autosys environments in a fast-paced, high-demand production setup, catering to global operations. The role spans L1 to L4 support, including monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting batch job execution issues, ensuring timely incident resolution, and maintaining accurate reporting and documentation in line with change and audit guidelines. The candidate will be responsible for 24x7 production support, including shifts and weekend coverage, while actively contributing to automation initiatives, self-service tools, and continuous improvement of operational processes. Strong hands-on experience in Autosys, Unix/Linux, SQL/RDBMS (such as MS SQL or Oracle), and scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python) is essential, along with exposure to tools like ServiceNow, Splunk, Grafana, Zabbix, and version control systems like GitLab. Familiarity with CI/CD practices, application and infrastructure support, and multi-platform environments is expected. The ideal candidate should have 3–8 years of experience across mid to senior support levels, possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, communicate effectively with global stakeholders, and demonstrate a self-motivated, flexible, and team-oriented approach with a strong focus on service excellence and continuous learning.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-1st and 2nd level of handling of Autosys environments catering to Nomura globally.
-Willing to work in highly demanding 24x7 production support environment
- Ensure all reporting of incidents is presented in an accurate and timely manner
-Production support involving round the clock dependent activities for global regions and cross teams.
- Identify and document procedures which lead to timely resolution to incidents and problems
-Monitoring / Scheduling Jobs in the Autosys environments abiding by the Change & Audit guidelines.
- Troubleshooting of all scheduling / execution issues of the batches.
-Supporting the Autosys services in Cloud via Ansible Tower, Cisco Cloud Centre Manager, etc Key Skills:
- Primary Interest in IT infrastructure domain 1
- Basic UNIX skills & shell scripting
- Experience in Scheduling Tools (i.e Autosys R12 and higher)
- Experience in Tools such as ServiceNow, CMDB, ZScaler, Splunk, EEM (Embeded Entitlements Manager), etc
- Experience in Databases such as Sybase, SQL, Oracle, etc.
- Experience in supporting IT systems in a multi-platform, multi-site, mission critical environment on a 24*7 basis.
- Ability to work independently as well as working on project teams.
-Develop and Document procedures required for production release of new and enhanced features of scheduling service as well as accompanying operational process documentation required for steady-state service management.
- Fast learner with interest in improving technical knowledge.
-Able to work alone or in a team and both under instruction or to own initiative.
