Job Description:

Account Executive – Public Sector

This is a key leadership role in DXC, working in collaboration with the customer to drive profitable growth. A strategic role, this Account Executive is critical to ensuring DXC builds and sustains an excellent customer relationship and is responsible for bringing the best of DXC to the customer to deliver exceptional results.

The account management teams, under the responsibility of the Account Executive, will build the strategic account plan working across the technology stack, to bring innovation & ideology, and working with Delivery to solution the optimized delivery plan. The Account Executive is directly accountable for profitable growth of the account through upsell and cross selling DXC’s strategic offerings. Through collaboration with Delivery (solutioning, service lines, delivery excellence) they are accountable for overall account results bringing together the DXC network of experts to optimize the account.

This role is the voice of DXC for the account and in the local community.

To be successful the Account Executive will also need to collaborate with Global and Regional Delivery along with Sales, Offerings and the Corporate and Regional Functional teams to manage and deliver to the expectations of our customers and DXC.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship, Delivery & Performance of the Account:

  • Responsible for customer relationship management across the entire account in the region (all offerings). 
  • Ensures and drives customer satisfaction through delivering on all commitments, bringing new ideas and innovation, and becoming a trusted partner to the client.
  • Partners with others across the organization to develop and deliver YOY growth results.
  • Coordinates with operational support and sales teams to ensure customer intimacy.

P&L, Strategy & Growth:

  • Responsible for profitable growth of the account across all offerings. Leads the strategic planning and growth framework.
  • Responsible for and owner of P&L/financials top to bottom. Intense focus on meeting and/or exceeding productivity and revenue objectives for assigned accounts. Forecast accuracy is critical.
  • Directs, manages, develops and oversees budget; ensures activities are appropriately funded, coordinated and managed according to the guidelines/constraints of resource allocations.

Employee Engagement

  • Is a role model for leadership across a complex matrix structure and drives employee engagement for those colleagues in DXC who work across the account.
  • Fosters open communication with employees. Motivates and drives a team “can do” spirit.  Creates a culture of trust and an environment that enables high performing teamwork.
  • Embodies and promotes core DXC values on a day to day basis

Basic Qualifications & experience:

  • Experience of working as a Client Partner or Account Executive in the UK Public Sector
  • Business management, business consulting, accounting or finance experience
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment, create and maintain formal and informal networks
  • Experience of quickly building sound knowledge of an account's commercial, financial, security and resourcing processes and accountabilities
  • Relevant experience to quickly build sound knowledge of DXC offerings and capabilities, most especially across digital transformation offerings
  • Experience of leading and delivering contracted technical solutions, with a focus on how it works for the client
  • Outstanding leadership, people management and customer relationship skills 
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills 
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Strategic mindset

Other Qualifications & experience:

  • Strong people development skills to develop, coach and mentor colleagues and recognize and reward performance and impact
  • Ability to use insight of the organization's internal and external business environment to improve outcomes that affect the business/account
  • Ability to publicly represent DXC with internal and external clients in sensitive and highly visible circumstances
  • Ability to champion a client’s mission and its specific technical/business challenges and requirements
