Job Description:

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), based in East Hartford Connecticut, is looking for a Data Science & Analytics expert to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India.  This role will be responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance machine learning and statistical models that provide forecasting, prediction and prescriptive solutions that can be embedded into our software and workflows.  These solutions will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Collaborate with engineering organization leads to identify opportunities for leveraging data science and analytics to enhance operations.

·        Leverage ASE’s aftermarket data to provide insights and better decision making. Build PowerBI dashboards

·        Work with experienced engineers to define, prototype, test, deploy and monitor machine learning and statistical models to provide predictions and forecasts

·        Understand, explain, and recommend appropriate Machine Learning/Data Analytics methods and software solutions

·        Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

·        Take ownership of assigned project milestones, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

·        Provide guidance to less-experienced professionals and act as a resource for technical expertise where needed.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (with 8+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 7+ year experience) in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics

  • 5+ years of experience building machine learning/statistical models

  • 3+ years of experience in SQL

  • Proficiency in machine learning tools and programming languages such as Python.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and professional maturity.

  • Quick learner with a creative problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace domain.

  • Experience developing PowerBI dashboards

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud computing platforms

  • Proven ability to bridge the gap between technical expertise and business needs.
