About This Opportunity  

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinic Manager to lead the start-up and ongoing management of a new, student-led dental clinic in our esteemed Oral Health Centre at Herston. This position will enable the clinical supervision of students undertaking the new Doctor of Dental Medicine program, in a university-owned and managed 16-chair community clinic.

This role will be based in Herston and will also provide remote leadership and support to the School’s established clinical teams based in Dalby and St George. This role may require occasional travel to these locations as required.

Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who will develop and manage resources, systems, processes, and procedures that promote ‘best practice’ in patient care for a student-led dental clinic.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Management: Provide leadership to the clinical teams at Herston, Dalby and St George, manage day-to-day clinic operations and recruit, manage and train staff members.

  • Student experience: Support the management of student rotations and placements.

  • Clinical operations: Coordinate patient care, oversee marketing campaigns and manage financials.

  • Compliance and quality control: Develop and implement quality assurance measures and act as the clinic’s Radiation Safety Officer.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in dental clinic management or healthcare administration delivering high-quality patient care and/or service excellence.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities enabling you to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote the Dentistry Clinic within the University and wider community.

  • Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Have undertaken Radiation Safety Officer Training, or ability to undertake training within 6 months of commencing in the role.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including the right to work in Australia, education check and a criminal background check.
