Job Description:

Perioperative Introduction Program; Graduate/Experienced Registered Nurse  

 

  • 60hrs/fn (0.8FTE) permanent position  

 

About the opportunity: 

  • Open to new graduates or to experienced RNs looking to diversify your career into a specialty area 

  • Program delivered February to December 2025 

  • Perioperative Introduction Program (PIP) Foundational program study days 

  • Supported supernumerary plan for skill development

About St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba:

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology, and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Availability

  • Available for face-to-face interview on-site Friday 4th October 2024  

  • Available to start the program Monday 3rd February 2025  

Interest in Perioperative nursing (previous experience not essential)

  • 200-400 words on why this program specifically interests you and why

  • 200-400 words about a specific situation in the workplace / on clinical placement where you have displayed excellence

Academic load 

  • Outline the strategies you will implement to manage shiftwork and the theoretical components of this program 

Shiftwork 

  • Ability to live within 20 minutes of the hospital to be able to undertake on-call responsibilities 

  • Ability to work a flexible roster with variable shifts and undertake reasonable overtime 

2. Accompanying documentation: 

  • Current APHRA Registration (no restriction)  

  • Academic transcript from university (not required if exp. RN) 

  • Interim & final ANSATs for your last TWO clinical placements (not required if exp. RN) 

Criminal record and/or child protection checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
