Job Summary

The Boiler Maker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing boilers, pressure vessels, and heavy-duty structural components used in mining and construction equipment. This role ensures compliance with Sandvik’s safety standards and contributes to the reliability and efficiency of operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Assembly
  • Cut, shape, and weld steel plates and sections to manufacture or repair boilers and related components.
  • Assemble pressure vessels and structural parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintenance & Repairs
  • Inspect boilers and heavy equipment structures for wear, cracks, and defects.
  • Perform welding repairs and reinforcement on mining machinery frames and components.
  • Replace worn parts and ensure alignment and structural integrity.
• Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to Sandvik’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and ensure all protective devices are in place before operation.
  • Use appropriate PPE and comply with site safety protocols.
• Technical Documentation
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Maintain accurate records of fabrication and repair work.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate or Diploma in Boiler Making or Metal Fabrication.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in heavy industry or mining environment.
• Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc) and cutting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license for site work.

• Ability to work independently and in a team under challenging conditions.
• Familiarity with safety standards and heavy equipment operational hazards.
• Physical stamina and ability to handle demanding tasks.
