ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a hard-working, highly motivated Senior Accountant to join Peloton’s Connected Fitness accounting team. This candidate will be responsible for taking ownership of the end-to-end workstream processes related to revenue. This candidate will challenge the status quo in order to develop and implement standard processes within our accounting and financial reporting processes, including the daily supervision of one or more team members. We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of business, strong communication skills, and exceptional expertise in working with numbers, data analysis, and relevant software tools like Excel, Alteryx, and more. A strong candidate should have a solid grasp of the most up-to-date U.S. GAAP standards, including ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers. They should also be knowledgeable about business process design, internal controls, and have previous experience working with external auditors. They are an analytical problem solver who enjoys working cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Ownership of revenue accounting close process for assigned areas, including daily interaction with business partners and external auditors
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist in the calculation, presentation, and communication of revenue analytics and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to finance leadership
  • Develop robust documentation around SOX-compliant internal controls, and ensure all controls are performed and documented in a manner that will meet the requirements of both internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance for assigned accounts across all relevant
    Systems
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and effectively communicate issues
  • Continually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching or benchmarking standard processes inside and outside of the company
  • Support business processes by partnering with other departments, including but not limited to the FP&A, Member Experience, Data Science, and Supply Chain teams
  • Assist in other assigned department-related tasks including special projects, ERP implementation, and other ad hoc analyses, as necessary

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP
  • 3-5 years of relevant Accounting experience; Public Accounting experience highly preferred
  • Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation; SEC experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels
  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlines
  • Tech-savvy and MS Excel superuser; must be comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets
  • ASC 606 knowledge and experience a plus
  • Experience working with various systems including, but not limited to NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and Alteryx is a plus

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range
$88,600$115,200 USD
