Full-Time | Day Shift

Join our Cancer Services team and play a vital role in supporting patients and families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. As a Complex Scheduler, you will be a key partner in coordinating care across Hematology/Oncology, Infusion, Radiation Oncology, and Palliative Care. Your work ensures that every patient receives timely, well-coordinated services, helping create a seamless, compassionate, and supportive experience throughout their cancer journey.

This role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional communication, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. You will collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and support staff to organize appointments, treatments, and procedures that directly contribute to the quality of care our Cancer Services team delivers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following preferred:

    • Post-secondary education or vocational training in healthcare

    • Previous healthcare or customer service experience

    • Knowledge of medical terminology

    • Other combinations of education/experience may be considered

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly

  • Ability to accurately type 45 wpm highly preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professionalism, tact, and the ability to manage confidential situations

  • Commitment to providing compassionate service to patients and families navigating cancer care

Job-Specific Duties

  • Accurately schedules cancer-related services and procedures following department guidelines

  • Coordinates multi-step care needs such as clinic visits, infusion appointments, radiation therapy, imaging, lab work, and surgical consults

  • Ensures appointment sequencing aligns with patients’ treatment regimens (e.g., concurrent or sequential treatments)

  • Provides clear, supportive communication to patients regarding exam prep, scheduling expectations, and care timelines

  • Ensures all pre-procedural clearances and paperwork are completed and communicated in advance

  • Works collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure availability of necessary resources, block times, equipment, and staffing

  • Helps optimize efficient utilization of operating rooms, cath lab, and procedural spaces as applicable

  • Maintains professionalism and calm during high volumes, urgent needs, or patient-sensitive situations

  • Collaborates with Cancer Services staff and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations

  • Assists with onboarding and cross-training of new team members

  • Helps reduce duplicate accounts and maintains accurate databases and scheduling systems

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
