Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in Schertz, Texas as a Team Lead for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As a team lead in our machining facility, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of employees in the assembly of our C15 Heads, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and procedures. What you will do:

  • Lead and train Machine Operators, ensuring their proficiency

  • Address and report issues to Production Managers, engineers, and maintenance departments

  • Ability to fill any team position and accomplish various tasks

  • Ensure quality by inspecting parts and materials during the assembly process

  • Collaborate with other departments for problem-solving and process improvement

  • Efficiently handle material delivery and removal

  • Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives

  • Assist with the Single Batch Transfer (SBT) process, including rework and out-of-process inventory management

  • Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions

  • Provide process-related information to supervisors and managers

  • Demonstrate technical competence in the entire Supply Chain area

  • Execute daily work assignments directed by the Production Manager

  • Facilitate employee training for processes and certifications

  • Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments

  • Lead non-conforming meetings for the assigned area

  • Perform other assigned duties

What you will have: 

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in Machining or Assembly Operations and/or Quality experience in a machining and/or manufacturing facility

  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Basic understanding of machining centers controls and applications (i.e. Heller & Toyota)

  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) software, ability to read tooling and part prints

  • Experience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Proficiency in Plex menus (control panel, check sheets, inventory search, rejection logs, etc.)

  • Ability to handle departmental delegation during issue resolution

  • Flexibility in shift and/or value stream assignments

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Initiative and willingness to speak up

What would make you a top candidate: 

  • In-depth knowledge of Heller and Toyota Machining Centers Controls and Applications

  • Knowledge of various tools with the ability to change and set tooling in machines

  • Technical experience in manufacturing processes

  • Experience conducting standard work audits for a value stream

  • One year of leadership experience in a formal or informal capacity, preferably in manufacturing

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:

  • $21.00/hour starting payrate; 2nd Shift will receive a Shift Premium of 7%

  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM. Overtime as required
