ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role will work across both the planning & strategy and the campaign management teams. You will be responsible for overseeing the quality and flawless execution of programmatic strategies and campaigns across display, video, audio, connected tv and out of home.
You will be a point of escalation for all programmatic activity, reporting to the head of department to highlight successes and challenges and working with them to ensure that strategies are forward thinking and delivering on client objectives.
You will be responsible for leading the team in all stages of a campaign lifecycle, from pre-campaign planning, implementation and testing, to optimisation, recommendations and post campaign analytics. You will also be responsible for strategic innovation, product development and building a strong rapport with key stakeholders and clients. You will be a senior point of contact for all clients, able to manage issues and provide solutions that benefit both the client and the business.
You will dotted line into the Head of Addressable Activation and Head of Campaign Management and lead a team of across the UK, India and Poland.
As the role is responsible for the output of both the strategy and campaign management teams there is a distinct list of responsibilities for each element.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:
- Leadership of client teams, ensuring client services and ad operations operate as one unit.
- Building strong relationship with senior IPG agency stakeholders and client stakeholders.
- Responsible for career development of individuals in the team. Establish goals and making sure individuals are supported to achieve them.
- Process improvement and design to ensure that teams are working in the most effective way possible. You will enforce processes, taking on feedback and adjusting where necessary, working with the head of department to deliver this.
- Providing thought leadership through presentations to the wider Kinesso teams on emerging technology, strategic developments, campaign architecture, and optimisation approach.
- Ongoing delivery of PR to clients, agency, within Kinesso and via award submissions
- Work with our internal teams to drive accountability across all addressable activations and the part we can play in delivering against our agency revenue targets
- With greater oversight into operational/campaign management, focus on how we can leverage/support Strategy to drive upsell or cross sell opportunities based on campaign performance and opportunities.
- Assisting the Head of Addressable Activation to enhance our product offering, increase awareness in the agency, develop best practise for implementation and tracking results
- Support creating and facilitating monthly meetings ensuring all stakeholders are equipped with delivering great content.
Strategy Team:
- Maintain best practice in all Kinesso processes throughout the team, maintaining a standard of flawless execution. Supporting craft leads and senior leadership in rolling out processes.
- Point of escalation for any issues or challenges both internally and with clients.
- Ability to build trust and strong relationships with clients, effectively managing challenging circumstances to deliver solutions that benefit the client and the business.
- Ensure excellence in financial management, including billing processes, queries, and forecasting.
- Support the team in developing and driving client roadmaps, test and learn agendas and more to improve digital knowledge and sophistication across clients.
- Be seen as a programmatic expert both internally and externally across accounts, acting as a senior source of support for teams to build and challenge ideas.
- Confidence in utilising DSP interfaces, planning and reporting tools to aid robust planning.
- Be familiar with key partners and technology in the programmatic space, meeting with partners to assess their capabilities and guiding the team in testing.
- Support IPG agencies in pitch responses and the pitch itself – responsible for delivering programmatic strategy as well as presentation of it.
- Working with the team to deliver innovative Kinesso products to generate revenue opportunities.
- Ability to integrate and work with other internal teams such as Agency planning teams, Data and Analytics, Product Teams, Ad Ops teams to ensure flawless execution of campaigns, reporting, data validation and insights.
Campaign Management Team:
- Working closely with our DMA, Head of Addressable Activation and offshoring teams to facilitate and manage utilisation amongst the team.
- Overseeing operational excellence within the Kinesso campaign management team, to ensure all addressable campaigns are delivered to the highest standard in line with objectives, budgets and KPIs.
- Being an expert in the use and best practice of multiple Demand Side Platforms (DSPs) offering insights both internally and externally across a campaign life-cycle.
- Leading weekly team calls to monitor campaign performance and delivery via campaign trackers. Facilitating proper dialogue between Campaign Management and Strategy teams.
- Acting as a point of escalation for troubleshooting across the Kinesso campaign management team, providing robust communication and a suitable plan of action to resolve.
- Delivering award worthy best-in-class campaign solutions.
- Working closely with the Product Manager to deliver on key projects such as supply path optimisation and client reporting solutions.
Media Plan Implementation
- Ensure all media plan requirements are correctly implemented within the DSP.
- Perform robust QA in campaign set-up and activation to eliminate errors.
- Ongoing optimisation of campaigns across display, mobile, audio, DOOH and video to ensure delivery in full and in accordance with performance KPIs.
- Track, measure and analyse early post-launch campaign activities.
- Implement robust test and learn frameworks to deliver outstanding results and insights.
- Liaise with the agency teams and clients directly to discuss current campaign optimisation plans and recommendations.
Ad Operations
- Work directly with third party ad servers, rich media vendors, client’s, media buying and trafficking teams and internal staff on all elements related to creative specifications, submission and ad trafficking
- Traffic and QA online advertising assets onto DSP consoles, and follow up with Agency/Advertisers on delinquent ad creative as needed Site Integration
- Work closely with Client Services, clients & site management groups to have pixels/beacons implemented in advance of media campaigns
- Work alongside the Product Group and other departments to help troubleshoot and correct tagging complications as they arise
- Leading partner surveys, feedback on product development and key agency initiatives
ABOUT YOU
- In-depth knowledge of the digital media industry and media market dynamics
- Comprehensive understanding of digital media concepts, especially programmatic e.g. understanding ad calls, different data types, buying methods, supply chain etc.
- Excellent understanding of the programmatic ecosystem and key players (DSPs, AD Exchanges, Networks, SSPs) as well as ad targeting methodologies
- Campaign management experience in multiple DSPs at a leading online agency, network, exchange or optimisation business with experience working on blue-chip advertisers.
- Ability to troubleshoot to ensure delivery and performance goals are met with clear communication throughout.
- Experience with statistics and related analysis methodologies.
- Ability to investigate, analyze & solve problems, and clearly communicate results
- Experience in creating and implementing robust test and learn frameworks across data, inventory and tech.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to locate and understand data of value to drive actionable insights.
- Team leadership and management experience
- Experience overseeing all client outputs directly or indirectly (via team) and ensuring excellence in response to briefs, campaign management and client comms.
- Ability to navigate a large and complex client organization and to co-operate with different business functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable in a consultative, client-facing environment
- Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and tools quickly
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial atmosphere and be a self-starter
