The Workday Spend Management Application Development Organization is a highly talented group that is delivering the next generation of SaaS solutions designed to meet the needs of today’s global businesses, built using the most modern technologies and development methodologies, providing an unparalleled level of agility, ease-of-use, performance, and integration capability.

The Inventory Management team provides an end-to-end solution to manage all aspects of the materials management process for goods and supplies. The Inventory Management team is a diverse team looking to expand to Vancouver – Canada.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tackle sophisticated problems, which comes with developing and delivering global critical enterprise software using your expertise in design, coding, algorithms, and complexity analysis. Your primary focus will be to:

  • Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements

  • Take initiative, exhibit creative-thinking, turn ideas into reality, and have a passion for user experience.

  • Tackle exciting performance, scalability, and resilience challenges.

  • Design and develop an OO product in a metadata-driven development environment that is easy for our customers to buy, adopt and love

  • Write and maintain solid, robust, efficient and maintainable code using an OO framework and tools

  • Write reliable unit, integration, and system level tests that will run on our CD pipeline.

  • Mentor and learn from other team members through pairing, code reviews, knowledge shares, hackathons, etc.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or application development engineer
  • 3+ of experience in an Object-oriented (OO) design and development language such as Java, Scala, C#, Xpresso, object-oriented design patterns, class modeling, and XML technology

Other Qualification

  • Experience building large scale enterprise business applications (in the area of Inventory Management or Cost Accounting preferred)
  • Experience working on analyzing and debugging Performance logs is beneficial
  • Metadata-driven definitional development experience
  • Experience with XML and integration technologies
  • Understanding the value of automated testing
  • See software development as a team activity and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar relevant degree


Workday Pay Transparency Statement 

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
