The CommBank Small Business Banking team is passionate about helping Australian small businesses succeed. We take the time to understand the business and personal goals of our customers, bringing together our expertise, solutions and specialist teams to help them move forward.

Small Business Banking is part of CBA Business Banking and supports small businesses across Australia through face-to-face and remote banking. We build strong relationships with our customers and local communities, taking ownership of their needs and delivering a consistently high-quality experience.

Based on the Gold Coast, you’ll play an important role in supporting local small business customers, building new relationships and strengthening CommBank’s presence within the local business community.

Do work that matters

As a Business Banker, you’ll manage and grow relationships with small business customers, taking the time to understand what matters to them and identifying opportunities to support their business and personal goals.

You’ll take ownership of customer needs from conversation through to fulfilment, while working closely with colleagues and specialist teams across CommBank to deliver the right outcomes.

You’ll also be active within the Gold Coast business community, developing new relationships, building referral networks and identifying opportunities to support more local businesses.

More specifically, you will:

• Build trusted relationships with small business customers by understanding their goals, challenges and opportunities.

• Originate and deliver a range of business banking solutions, including commercial lending up to $1.5M, asset finance, merchant facilities and everyday banking solutions.

• Manage customer needs end-to-end, providing a responsive and high-quality experience.

• Proactively develop new business and strengthen existing customer relationships across the Gold Coast.

• Build relationships with local businesses, referral partners and key stakeholders to grow awareness of CommBank’s Small Business Banking proposition.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and specialist teams, sharing knowledge and bringing the best of CommBank to our customers.

• Stay curious about our customers, their industries and the local market to identify new ways we can support their success.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in business or commercial banking, lending or B2B sales.

• Strong financial analysis skills and commercial acumen.

• Excellent relationship-building and customer engagement skills, both face-to-face and remotely.

• Experience managing a pipeline of opportunities and proactively developing new business.

• The ability to take ownership, work collaboratively and deliver great customer outcomes.

• A genuine passion for supporting small businesses and building relationships within the local community.

• FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation and relevant Credit Approval Authority, or a willingness to obtain the required accreditation.
