TITLE: Senior Product Manager / Senior Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

The Senior Product Manager in International Product serves as a critical expert for the Duck Creek product portfolio, working out of our India Centre of Excellence.

They will work with senior product leadership to generate market demand by bringing relevant and innovative new products to market.  This leader also serves as an internal and external evangelist for product, working externally with the sales channel, market analysts, and key customers; and internally with marketing, services, and product engineering.

Qualified candidates bring international insurance industry knowledge, experience in SaaS, product management expertise, and leadership to the product portfolio. This leader understands what building market capabilities across multiple product lines for customers looks like, including the detail of stewardship, governance, and innovation led thinking. The international product space offers unique exposure across the Duck Creek portfolio, with opportunities to create full suite solutions that realize end to end value for our customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the definition of the product requirements and prioritization, including:  Assisting with managing larger parts of the portfolio backlog, roadmap and tracking of market demands across international regions

  • Provides support to the Director of International Product in coordinating with regional teams to understand priorities and support requirements

  • Develops use cases, business scenarios, user personas and other design artifacts to support requirements and development specifications

  • Champions international market needs, ensuring that wherever possible we are creating new with a region agnostic approach that is focused on delivering customer value

  • Acts as an internal consultant to other product teams ideating and designing high-level product augmentation across the Duck Creek ecosystem

  • Manages product release schedules and works with Product and Engineering Leadership to ensure SDLC adherence and communication with stakeholders

  • Supports development of training, documentation, and tools as required

  • Interfaces directly with customers in representing product areas as required

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments

  • May act as a team lead and coordinate activities of team members

  • Communicates with various management levels regarding specific phases of an operation or project

  • Stays current on market trends as related to the assigned product(s)

  • Creates defensible business cases for new product investments & functionality

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

  • Hands-on experience managing and leading a product; P&C Insurance Business, SaaS B2B or an IT organization

  • Comprehensive understanding of international insurance markets

  • Exceptional and proven written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong ability to present ideas and information in influential and compelling ways (such as storytelling).

  • Strong product management, project management, planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Unwavering attention to detail

  • Able to work effectively across functional groups & with minimal supervision. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities without sacrificing quality or impacting deadlines

  • Strong understanding of general SaaS design patterns, modern data architecture and machine learning patterns

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in a software engineering/computer related field

  • 5+ years of related professional experience in product management

    • And/or master’s degree plus minimum of 5+ year’s related professional experience

  • 1-3 years of leadership experience

    • 5+ years direct professional insurance industry experience is desirable

WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW:  

During the interview process, you will be given situations or skills that are required for this role, for which you will be asked to demonstrate the depth of your skill. Examples include ‘technical deep dive’, ‘customer obsession’, ‘delivering results’, ‘insisting on highest standards’. You will be required to present situations from your past where you have demonstrated that skill and explain in detail what happened, your role etc. Including data and metrics in your answers would be to your advantage.

  • You will be allowed to work remotely in India.

  • Travel: Occasional or Periodic travel to Duck Creek locations around the word may be expected

  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.
