What We do / The Team

Rates Technology is looking to hire an experienced Engineer based in London. This is a global team with a client base spanning 70+ countries. This role will be within the Risk Technology team.

Risk Technology is focused on delivering solutions to the Rates Trading desks. This team develops and maintains a complete suite of Risk technology solutions, for both the Rates and FX (including Derivatives) Businesses.

Role Overview/What will you do:

  • This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain exposure to different asset classes in a Tier 1 investment bank.
  • Working with the Trading Businesses and Quants to deliver large-scale projects
  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Drive adoption of new quant models including validation of Risk valuations
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
  • Improving development processes including testing deliverables and reviewing Controls

  • Extensive experience in Applications Development role within the Rates domain and/or Risk management
  • Proven knowledge of SDLC and Trade lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Java, python and/or advanced SQL, with a good understanding of IT fundamentals
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with front-office stakeholders
  • Proven people management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Degree educated (Master’s preferred) in a comp science, mathematics discipline or experience operating in a similar role
