You will be the driving force behind our customer-facing products. You'll lead the system design, ongoing development, and quality assurance for new features. Your expertise in scalable and efficient system design, coupled with your ability to select the right technology, will translate into products that solve real-world problems. Extensive collaboration is key – you'll work closely with other teams to ensure features seamlessly integrate and align with overall product goals. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of high-quality code are also part of your impact.

What you'll do

  • Lead the full lifecycle of feature development, from design and implementation to launch and ongoing maintenance.
  • Design robust, scalable, secure, and efficient features, considering factors like maintainability, diagnosability, and testability.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify existing designs and processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, establish team coding standards, and mentor junior/mid-level engineers.
  • Write thorough unit tests and contribute to building robust testing systems.
  • Debug complex problems and identify improvements in debugging tools and methodologies.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate across teams to ensure successful feature integration.
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and contribute to the team's technical direction.
  • Advocate for the customer by understanding their needs and incorporating that knowledge into product improvements.
  • Respond to customer issues and champion fixes to improve customer satisfaction.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript and a web framework (React, Angular, Vue, Ember) OR confidence you can cross-train and upskill quickly as necessary
  • Familiarity with Typescript, Node.js, and AWS is a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of both frontend and backend best practices; ability to contribute to all aspects of the product development lifecycle
  • Proven experience in a broad range of engineering tasks, from developing internal tools to crafting complex features that elevate the user experience
  • Experience with unit testing and other testing methodologies
  • Strong communication skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability and interest in mentoring junior/mid-level engineers
  • Passion for building high-quality software and a desire to learn and grow

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • A robust 401K plan to help you invest in your future.
  • Access to Modern Health for mental health resources and support.
  • Monthly subsidies to cover your telecommunications needs and support your ongoing personal growth and wellness.
  • For those near one of our offices, an FSA Commuter/Parking Benefit and lunches when you’re working from one of our offices.
  • A family-first approach with 12 weeks of paternity leave and 18 weeks of maternity leave, ensuring you have the time you need with your new family members.

Not everyone will match the above qualifications 100%. If your experiences don’t perfectly align, but you think you’d be a great addition to our team, we’d still love to hear from you.
