What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a Senior Manager - Solar Cell Strategic Sourcing position to manage Solar Cell strategic sourcing for our Timberline Solar shingle.
This position will formulate the sourcing strategies for solar cells, develop the supplier bases for the categories, and define and implement the cost reduction and risk mitigation programs to meet our annual sourcing key performance metrics.
This position will lead a cross-functional team including R&D, NPI, Manufacturing, and Procurement Operations to develop global solar cell supplier bases, qualify the supplier base according to GAF Energy quality standards, onboard the supplier, and maintain supply continuity for GAF Energy solar cell requirements.
This position will formulate and implement a solar cell supply strategic roadmap to support GAF Energy’s Timberline solar shingle product development roadmap;
This position will serve as GAF Energy's in-house expert with knowledge of Senior Manager solar cell technology trends, global key players' latest developments, capacity, and new product development, as well as advise and support internal stakeholders' inquiries related to solar cells.
What will you do?
Develop, drive, and implement solar cell sourcing strategies.
Manage vendor qualification and onboarding, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and internal approvals.
Maintain vendor relationships, communicate business needs, and manage vendor business reviews.
Provide feedback on the effectiveness of established methodologies and continue to drive improvements.
Through data analysis, resolve missing information, and inconsistencies and validate information in Vendor Profiles.
Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires conceptual thinking and in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
Interact regularly with senior management concerning functional areas, departments, or customers.
Demonstrate the ability to persuade others in sensitive complex situations while preserving relationships.
Apply knowledge to convince other stakeholders of desired departmental outcomes.
Manage activities of two or more disciplines or a department.
Oversee experienced level professionals and may be responsible for subordinate managers. Frequently advises team(s) on moderately complex matters.
What do we require from you?
A Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 8 -15 years of experience in vendor management or procurement/supply chain is preferred.
Experience with sourcing Solar Cell or PV module components is highly preferred.
Experience in the residential solar market is highly preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
Experience working with suppliers based in Asia or familiarity with supply chains in Asian markets is preferred.
Impeccable attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and excellent time management skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient.
Establish operational objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans and delegate assignments to subordinates.
Develop, modify, and execute company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effects.
Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.
