Job Summary

The Development Technician carries out technical development assignments from general sets of instructions to assist a Development Engineer in the successful completion and transfer of a project(s) with limited supervision. Important aspects of the position include the proficient operation of a variety of instruments and equipment, and skillful execution of techniques and procedures. Furthermore, the Development Technician II will establish procedures and techniques for new operations (equipment, instrument, process, etc.). Major criteria for successful performance are initiative, innovativeness, practicality, adaptability, dependability/willingness, neatness and safety- consciousness.
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute and lead approved development projects through formulation, manufacturing scale-up, and product launch, optimizing processes and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration.

  • Carry out technical development assignments based on general instructions to support Development Engineers.

  • Operate a variety of instruments and equipment proficiently, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

  • Execute techniques and procedures with skill and precision in various development projects.

  • Establish and document procedures and techniques for new operations, including equipment and processes.

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

  • Demonstrate initiative and innovation in problem-solving and process improvements.

  • Adapt to changing project requirements and exhibit dependability in completing assigned tasks.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and project success.

  • Maintain neat and accurate records of work performed, including data collection and analysis.
     

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Associate’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Applied Science) or equivalent experience; Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant field.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a technical development or laboratory environment.

  • Proficiency in operating laboratory instruments and equipment relevant to the role.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
