The Opportunity

Join us at Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) where we're focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As a Senior Product Designer, your refined design sensibility, creative vision, and ability to translate human needs into digital solutions will be key to shaping the future of digital health. You’ll lead the design of innovative products, leveraging both traditional UX practices and cutting-edge technologies. Your experience taking products from 0 to 1, alongside your passion for pushing design boundaries, will enable you to create experiences that feel intuitive, impactful, and deeply human.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for new products, from early-stage concepts to final delivery, iterating based on feedback and research.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate and test design ideas, balancing user needs with business goals.

  • Bring our vision to life by shaping user experiences that evolve with our audiences and the market.

  • Collaborate directly with customers to ensure designs are rooted in real-world user needs and behaviors, enhancing the overall experience.

  • Use storytelling to bridge the gap between user needs and business outcomes, ensuring design is a key strategic driver across the organization.

  • Define and maintain scalable design systems, ensuring consistency across various product touchpoints.

  • Work closely with UX researchers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate user insights and data into practical and beautiful design solutions.

  • Elevate the design team’s craft by leading critiques, collaborative sessions, and fostering a culture of excellence and learning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Design / Human Factors or related field plus minimum of 6 years related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing holistic, end-to-end consumer product experiences that resonate with users and drive business success.

  • A sophisticated design sensibility, shaped by a deep curiosity for both design and the world around you, continuously seeking inspiration from diverse sources.

  • Experience bringing products from 0 to 1, guiding them from idea to product-market fit through intentional iteration.

  • A passion for staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies—whether you’re experimenting with AI or exploring new design tools, you’re always evolving your craft.

  • A relentless focus on understanding and addressing the real needs of users, with a knack for translating complex information into clear, elegant user flows.

  • Expertise in usability and accessibility, ensuring every design is inclusive and functional for all users.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively articulating your design rationale to a wide range of stakeholders.

  • A portfolio that showcases your most recent work, particularly highlighting consumer products and the tangible impact of your design decisions.

  • Experience working with and expanding design systems, ensuring a cohesive and scalable visual language across all product surfaces.

  • Proficiency in Figma, with an ability to explore prolifically, iterate and communicate design concepts.
