The Opportunity  

This position is based in Austria in the Abbott Vascular - Abbott Medical Austria. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive products for treatment of vascular disease. 

In this role you are assuring consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets in assigned territory by identifying opportunities and gaining new business while maintaining existing business.

Your Tasks:

  • Achieve territory total product sales targets and associated individual product targets
  • Carry out sales calls, targeting high sales areas for maximum efficiency and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity in assigned territory
  • Complete and submit timely administration tasks such as customer record keeping (CM), rolling forecasts, monthly highlights, expenses, etc. in line with divisional standards
  • Manage samples, demo devices, promotional and phone expense budgets as per your plan spreadsheet to ensure expenses budget is contained
  • Maintain close relationships with key accounts and ensure their requirements are being met by the Company's products where possible
  • Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with Company image, ensuring activities comply with legal and ethical standards
  • Compliance in performing the training as required by the training procedur
  • Participation at local and international congresses
  • Inventory management and reporting
  • Structural analysis of regional potential
  • Regional and account planning to reach the company objectives

Your Qualification:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification or Medical/Paramedical certification eg. nursing or relevant industry experience or university studies or comparable clinical /commercial professional education
  • Preferably prior learning of professional selling skills
  • More than three years' relevant experience in a sales role in the Health Care Industry (time in role indicative/expectation only)
  • Understanding of products and their applications
  • Good knowledge of vascular anatomy, medical nomenclature
  • Capable to make realistic plans and to execute them; time management
  • Good negotiator, confident and capable to close deals
  • Fluent in German and English
